About Remnant House

Remnant House is a private facility that offers a 12 week intensive outpatient program for individuals living with a substance use disorders. The program is ongoing and offers open enrollment. Individuals can start at any week and continue the rotation until completion. This evidence based program, originally developed in 1984, is continually improved and updated to meet today’s’ challenges. Participation in this evidence this based program provides a solid base for sober living and relapse prevention. The ultimate goal is abstinence. We offer medically assisted therapies and modalities as they apply to the individual client.

As we travel the road to recovery, we understand that each individual has their own unique path and we accept that recovery is not a one-size-fits-all destination.

The intensive outpatient programming allows more options for the individual as well as family, and supportive persons. Individuals can still work full or reduced work weeks, which is financially beneficial to individuals and employers.

The client can return home each day which allows for integrated recovery/daily living as opposed to residential treatment. This makes it easier for the client to integrate back in to their daily life with the support of treatment which helps the client stay actively engaged in all aspects of their life.

The client can attend treatment/program and still live at home which keeps families together and support systems intact. Studies are now showing the success rates for live-in and outpatient programs are about the same. The benefits of outpatient programs can be less taxing on the entire life of the individual and their  support systems.

Intensive outpatient programming also gives clients the opportunity to use what they learn on a daily basis and also allows for next day support to be in place. Individuals will benefit by learning to live one day at a time. Clients will also learn to manage their recovery and how to keep things simple.

Our program also incorporates one on one counselling from certified, qualified professionals throughout the program. The family and support system are also involved throughout the treatment and are able to attend educational and support groups at the facility. It is important that a client’s family and support system are involved in the recovery process, and educate themselves on substance use disorders.
